(NewsDakota.com) – Minot will be the new Class AAA No. 1 team when the new state polls come out this week, but it wasn’t without a hard-fought win over a Jamestown team that gave them everything they could handle. The Magi took the game 33-19 and improved to 3-0.
Minot lead 14-0 nothing in the second quarter when the Blue Jay offense went to work scoring twice to get back within one point. However, on the ensuing and final drive of the half Minot was able to get three points back. A personal foul penalty gave the Magi an untimed down and they hit a 35-yard field goal to go into half up 17-13.
Jamestown turned the ball over three times in the second half and Minot consistently had short fields as they pulled away.
Jamestown will host Williston on Friday as part of the annual Homecoming festivities.
