N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The North Dakota Game & Fish Department have released their survey numbers from late July and August.

The roadside pheasant survey has found that total pheasants are up 30 percent from last year. Brood observations were up 23 percent while the average brood size was up 9 percent. Game Biologist Doug Leier stated that this study shows a positive outlook for the future of pheasant brood sizes in the state.

The season will start October 10th and continue through January 3rd, 2016. Youth Pheasant Hunting weekend is set for October 3rd and 4th.
