N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The Valley City Hi-Liner boys tennis team came into the Eastern Dakota Conference Tournament as an eighth seed and were matched up against Grand Forks Red River in the quarterfinals. 

The Roughriders swept Valley City 5-0, which sent the Hi-Liners to the consolation side of the bracket, where Fargo North ended the team season for Valley City with a 3-2 win.

VCHS vs GFRR

Singles: 

1st – Andrew Gordon defeated Dalton Ondracek 6-0, 6-3. 

2nd – Danny Pierce defeated Brandon Miller 6-1, 6-1. 

3rd – Ryan Kenyon defeated Hunter Burchill 6-0, 6-0. 

Doubles: 

1st – Keaton Wolf/Prem Thakker defeated Riley Miller/Liam Williams 6-0, 6-1. 

2nd – Kaden Johnson/Gavin Loscheider defeated Collin White/Dempsey Williams 6-2, 6-1. 

VCHS vs North

Singles: 

1st – Ben Swanson defeated Ondracek 6-1, 6-3. 

2nd – Joey Kearns defeated L. Williams 6-0, 6-0. 

3rd – Zane Voglewede defeated White 6-0, 6-0. 

Doubles: 

1st – Burchill/R. Miller defeated Logan Strand/Ben Laber 6-1, 6-4. 

2nd – B. Miller/D Williams defeated Jack Morris/Mikey Hallquist 6-1, 6-1.
