(NewsDakota.com) – After a tough early season schedule, the University of Jamestown football team was able to shake off the slow start and win their first game of 2015. The Jimmies knocked off Presentation College 28-21.

Jamestown jumped out to a 14-0 lead. They used a short field following a bad punt to march in on a Charlie Heck 3-yard touchdown run. Later the special teams struck again when Nate Milos pined the Saints inside their own five yard line. Cedarion Hopkins picked off a short pass and raced in for the second score.

Presentation refused to go away quietly. They tied the game up before half on a 40-yard Hail Mary on the final snap and then added a two-point conversion.

The third quarter was scoreless, but Jamestown scored twice quickly in the fourth. Two touchdowns in the first five minutes including an 86-yard connection from Beau Eriksson to Mike Sena. With that catch Sena broke Max Boe’s all-time career yardage record.

Jamestown will host Dickinson State on Saturday as the capping of the Homecoming festivities.
