N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – A property crash one mile east of Sanborn has caused over $10,000 in damages.

On Tuesday, October 6th, 88 year-old Karl Burkhart of Dazey was traveling westbound on Barnes County Road 22 when he stopped at a stop sign on the Highway 1 intersection. Burkhart pulled out in front of a northbound semi driven by 58 year-old Larry Feske of West Fargo. In an attempt to avoid a crash, Feske steered to the left and Burkhart struck the right side of the semi. Both vehicles came to rest in a ditch.

No fuel was spilled at the scene and no one was injured. Damage to Burkharts vehicle totaled to $8,500 and Feske’s semi had $7,000 in damages. Burkhart was charged with failure to yield. The crash remains under investigation by the North Dakota Highway Patrol.
