CITY, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The search for a new school superintendent in Valley City is underway and a public input meeting was held October 19th at the Hi-Liner Activity Center lobby.  Jon Martinson, Executive Director of the North Dakota School Board Association led the meeting and asked the audience four questions:

One of those said, List good things about the school district? What are good things about the community? What qualities would you like to see in your new superintendent? and finally are there any issues with the school district?

Martinson has been working with the Valley City School Board to help coordinate the process. He met with students and staff earlier in the day. The school board will begin advertising the position for superintendent on November 15. Interviews will start the first week in February.

Current superintendent Dean Koppelman will be retiring at the end of the school year after serving the district for 18 years.
