Mr. Mike’s Martial Arts Students Compete in Fargo
Mr. Mike’s Martial Arts School from Valley City competed in The Fargo Open Martial Arts Championships that were held Saturday Oct 24th.
These Championships had both Tae Kwon Do and Grappling competitions. Mr. Mike’s Martial Arts teaches a unique combination of several arts which include a stress on traditional Tae kwon do and grappling to provide his students with a well rounded self-defense study.
Results are listed below.
Cameron Gabel had three 1st place finishes, Sparring, Pattern and Breaking, he also had a 2nd place finish in Gi Grappling.
Brian Mickleson finished in 2nd place in no Gi Grappling, 3rd in Gi grappling, 2nd in Breaking and Sparring.
Noah Gabel placed 1st in Gi Grappling and 2nd in Breaking.
Jayden Schultz placed 1st in Breaking and 3rd in Pattern.
Mike Schmidt Jr. placed 2nd in Breaking.
Hayden Botz was 3rd in Breaking
Two of Mike’s youngest students did very well too. Faith Schmidt finished 1st in Pattern, 1st in Breaking and 3rd in sparring and Uria Gabel placed 1st in Breaking.
Students compete against other students in their belt color and weight.
The championships were held at Fargo North High School with participants coming from all over the area.
