CITY, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The Valley City Hi-Liners entertained the Fargo North Spartans on Tuesday night in Eastern Dakota Conference basketball.

Fargo North (1-0 overall, 1-0 EDC) came away with a 49-45 win over the Hi-Liners in the girls basketball game. 

Valley City (0-1 overall, 0-1 EDC) took advantage of a 14-0 run in the second half to grab a 32-27 lead, however Fargo North responded with a 9-0 run immediately afterwards and never looked back.

Tarryn Justesen paced the the Hi-Liners with 14 points and hit four three-pointers.

In the boys game, Hunter Burchill scored a game high 23 points in Valley City’s 79-65 win over Fargo North.

The Hi-Liners limited the Spartans to 22 points in the second half and improved to 1-0 overall and 1-0 in the EDC.

Siman Sem led the Spartans (0-1 overall, 0-1 EDC) with 20 points from the floor.

Valley City hosts Fargo Davies for a doubleheader on Friday night from the HAC. The boys game will tip-off at 5:45 p.m. with the girls game to follow at 7:30 p.m.
