N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The Jamestown Public School system is now seeking a new Resource Officer after Officer Nick Hardy resigned from the position.

Officer Hardy began his duties as Resource Officer about six years ago, but resigned as of December 1st to take on other duties within the Jamestown Police Department. Superintendent Robert Lech stated that Officer Hardy has been the only one to hold the position since it was created.

Hardy will continue his work as coordinator of the Drug Abuse Resistance program and will alternate in the Resource Officer position until a full-time replacement is found.

Lech stated that they will hope to have a replacement by the beginning of January next year.
