N.D. (NewsDakota.com)—-The 2015 Stutsman County Girls Basketball tournament came to an end on Saturday night crowning the M-P-B Thunder the tourney champs with a 49-27 win over Ellendale. Carrington defeated E-K-M 50-41 in the third place game, South Border defeated Napoleon-GS 50-39 in the fifth place game, and Midkota-Kensal defeated Warwick 62-39 in the seventh place game.
The free throw award went to M-P-B, the Thunder connected on 70 percent of their free throws during the tournament. The coaches award went to Rachel Land of Ellendale and South Border won the sportsmanship award.
The all tournament team had 11 players, Madi Moldenhauer and Jordan Thomas from M-P-B, Haley Hewitt and Maara Nelson from Carrington, Olivia Anderson and Katie Entzi from E-K-M, Isabell Wedell and Alyssa Nishek from Ellendale, Kayla Rohr from South Border, Kate Long from Napoleon-GS, and Taylor Sabinash from Midkota-Kensal.
