N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – An annual event helped 41 underprivileged children shop for Christmas this weekend in Jamestown.

The Cops & Kids program had representatives from the Jamestown Police Department, Stutsman County Sheriff’s Office, Highway Patrol, Stutsman County Correctional Center, and Foster County Sheriff’s Department helping the kids out. FOP Liaison Nellie Degen stated that this year, Jamestown Wal-Mart Manager Tim Curtis distributed food care packages to each child.

Children ages 5 to 12 were selected through social services or members of the community. Degen stated that it was heartwarming to see officials helping children in need in the community.
