N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The Jamestown Fire Department is sharing tips and information regarding fire safety this holiday season.

Lt. Sheldon Mohr with the department stated that nationally, there have already been reports of house fires due to precautions not being taken by individuals.

Lt. Mohr stated that there are a lot of different things to consider when decorating for the holidays, including placement of the tree.

With a lot of residents spending more time indoors and using wood stoves as heat sources, Lt. Mohr pointed out that there is an increase for carbon monoxide poisoning.

In the event of a fire, call 911 immediately. If you have any questions, you can contact the Jamestown Fire Department at 701-252-1441.
