N.D. (NewsDakota.com)—-The Ellendale Cardinals held on to defeat the Rebels of E-K-M 43-42 to capture back-to back Stutsman County championships.

 

7th Place—–Kidder County Pirates 45  Midkota Mustangs 43

Brighton Fallgatter poured in a game high 21 points and 6 steals t0 lead the Kidder County Pirates to a 45-32 win over Midkota. Cameron Moser added 9 points & 5 steals for the Pirates. Midkota was paced by Laine Hoyt’s 7 points, Mason Smith’s 10 rebounds, and Joseph Voomer’s 9 rebounds and 6 points.

5th Plasc——-Medina-Pingree-Buchanon Thunder 46   Napoleon-Gackle-Streeter 41

The Thunder had a balanced scoring attack led by Alex Huff’s 12 points, Lawton Allen 9, Travis Greer 9, Jeremiah Heupel 8, and Seth Horn with 6. Allen would also lead the Thunder with a game high 9 rebounds. N-G-S had 2 players score 34 of their 41 points, led by Bryce Fettig with a game high 20 and Jaden Jangula added 14. Fettig would also haul in 8 rebounds.

3rd Place——South Border 44 Carrington 32 

For the second year in a row, the Mustangs of South Border claim the third place trophy at the Stutsman Tourney.  Senior Center Hunter Pinke led all scorers with 13 points for the Mustangs and Junior Tristan Lippert had a double double with 12 points and 10 rebounds.  Leading the way for Carrington was Junior Bryce Edland with 12.

 

Championship——-Ellendale 43   Edgeley/Kulm/Montpelier 42

For the second year in a row, the Cardinals are Stutsman Champs.  In the fourth quarter with 4.7 seconds left and EKM down by three, Ellendale would in-bounce the ball in the back court but the pass in didn’t touch anybody and rolled out of bounce on the other side of the court.  The Rebels would get the ball back with still 4.7 seconds left by their own basket, Senior Connor Entzi would get the pass in and attempt a three pointer but missed it, EKM rebounded the ball and put in a shot that counted at the buzzer, but it was only a two pointer.  Senior Logan Schumacher led the way with 10 for Ellendale.  Connor Entzi for EKM had 10.
