(NewsDakota.com) The citywide elections in Oakes is scheduled for  Tuesday, June 14.

Three four year term City Council seats are open this year, as well as each two Park Commissioners, who also serve four year terms.

Those wishing to run for the seats must garner enough signatures on a petition to be on the official ballot; which can be picked up at Oakes City Hall between 8:30 and 4:30. Petitioners have until 4 p.m. on Monday April 11 to turn in their petitions.

33 signatures are needed for the City Council petitions, and 14 are required for the Park Commissioner petitions.
