N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The Two Rivers Activity Center will be just a little smaller than originally discussed, but will still feature all the amenities approved before.

The group stated that all planned programs will still be included in TRAC. Principal Architect with Zerr Berg Architects Brian Berg stated that adjusting the total square footage allowed the group to save on costs.

The originally plotted building was to be around 162,156 total feet, but has now been cut down to 94,965 square feet. Although the total square footage of the building has been reduced, there has been no reduction in programs that will be offered. Berg stated that they were able to make those cuts by moving heating and cooling systems to the roof from the main building.

Voters approved the $28.6 million bond in June 2015, which will be repaid by a 1 percent sales tax to fund phase one. The group estimates groundbreaking to be May 2nd, 2016 and to have the finished product by September 1st, 2017.
