N.D. – (NewsDakota.com) “Cassidy’s Ride” is a snowmobile run event to raise money for Community Opportunities Providing Education known as COPE after the tragic death of Cassidy Andel of Cooperstown in 2010.
Co-event coordinator Carl Sad says Saturday’s ride and silent auction will raise money to help bring in educators and health care professionals to speak to students on such topics as suicide, depression and bullying.
Registration is Saturday, January 23 from 10am to Noon at the Oasis Bar in Cooperstown. The ride starts at noon. For more information call Carl Sad at 701-797-7890 or Kerry Sad at 701-309-0140.
Sad says over the last five years the event has raised more than $34,000. He says last year the ride and silent auction raised $8,500. Sad says 100 percent of the funds raised from Cassidy’s Ride cover the expenses of having speakers and local advocates educate the community about depression, suicide and bullying.
