N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The Jamestown City Council met in regular session Monday, February 1st at the Jamestown City Hall.

During the brief meeting, several consent agenda items were approved. Some of the items included amending and restating the Retirement Plan for the City Employees, Installation of a Banner Hoist in the Jamestown Civic Center, and redirecting some funds to purchase new officer short sleeve uniform shirts and external vest carriers for the Jamestown Police Department.

One item was removed from the agenda that was for a bid to purchase a new side scan sonar/dual frequency fish-towed scanner. Jamestown Fire Chief Jim Ruether stated that after research with the trainer of underwater searches, Marine Sonic became no longer viable in terms of customer service.

Chief Ruether suggested a bid be awarded to EdgeTech in the amount of $34,995, all covered by grant money. The Council unanimously approved.

At the end of the meeting, Council Member Dan Buchanan recognized the Jamestown Emergency Officials for their efforts in a recent blood drive.

The next regular meeting will be Monday, March 7th.
