(NewsDakota.com) – The LaMoure-LM girls basketball team will enter the District 5 Tournament this weekend at the Jamestown Civic Center as the No. 3-seed but that doesn’t phase Head Coach Mitch Carlson. “I’m just fine with the three-seed,” Carlson said, “we only lost three games, but actually won more than we did last year.”
Last year, of course, the Loboes made a run to the state tournament for the first in school history and finished fourth.
LaMoure starts three seniors and goes eight deep with a trio of sophmores picking up big minutes. The Loboes don’t have a starter over 5’8″ which will cause some matchup problems. “What we lack in size we try to make up for in quickness,” Carlson explained.
LaMoure will play the night cap on Friday against Barnes County North, scheduled for 7:30pm. You can catch all the games of the District 5 girls basketball tournament on TED-FM 98.3 and NewsDakota.com.
