N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – All three of the regular-season NSAA titles have been won by the University of Jamestown women. They split the title with Mayville State in 2013-14 and now have won it outright in both 2014-15 and 2015-16. No. 8 Jamestown held on late for a 74-62 win over No. 20 Dickinson State on Saturday for their 10th conference win.
The Jimmies held the Blue Hawks to just 18 points in the first half on six made field goals. Dickinson had a much better second half showing with 44 points, but their rally fell short.
Jamestown lead 55-35, but the Hawks mounted their comeback pulling to within six in the fourth quarter. The Jimmies went to the line and knocked down their free throws to seal the win.
Jessica Buck lead the charge with 23 points and 10 rebounds. Kyra Dewald added 18, while Kaeli Kraska tied her career-high with 16.
The road to Sioux City will go through the Jamestown Civic Center again this year. The NSAA playoffs begin a week from Wednesday. The Jimmies have two more regular season games left, at Dakota State on Wednesday and at Mayville State on February 20th.
