(NewsDakota.com) – The University Jamestown baseball is now one loss from elimination after a 7-4 loss to Missouri Baptist in the first round of the NAIA opening round tournament.

The Jimmies lead 4-2, but Missouri Baptist rallied back with single runs in the fifth and seventh innings to tie it. Culver Plant hit a blast off the scoreboard in 7th as the game tying hit.

Jamestown lifted Tanner Dahl after seven and the bullpen ran into some trouble. Beau Rabedeaux got two quick outs in the eighth before walking the 8th and 9th place hitters. Julien Garcia came in and walked the lead off man to fill the bases.

The Spartans got an infield single to break the tie and ground ball through the infield to add some insurance. Suddenly it was 7-4 with flame-throwing Brandon Nunn ready to shut the door.
