N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life is hosting numerous “Paint Your World Purple” events across the nation and LaMoure County is participating.

In celebration of the annual LaMoure County Relay for Life June 10th, the group is asking for the community to help “paint the county purple”. The LaMoure County Commissioners recently declared June 1st this year and all years following as Relay for Life day.

Businesses and residents are being asked to help show their support by decorating their property with purple. The goal is to raise awareness of cancer and Relay for Life.

Relay brings together friends, families, businesses, hospitals, schools, faith-based groups and everyone to celebrate the lives of those who have had cancer, remembering those lost, and fighting back against the disease. Last year, the group was able to raise over $60,000 in the fight against cancer.
