N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The state Game and Fish Department is spreading the word that this weekend only, everyone will be allowed to fish for free.

Wildlife Biologist Doug Leier reported that the weekend has been held in the state for over 30 years. He pointed out that those who haven’t fished for a while or haven’t purchased a fishing license will be able to go out to their favorite fishing spot and fish for free starting Friday, June 3rd.

All residents age 16 and over can fish. Residents age 15 and under do not need a fishing license at any time of the year. Leier pointed out that there are a lot of places to take advantage of the free fishing weekend.
