(NewsDakota.com) The Carrington Babe Ruth baseball team advanced to the State Class B Championship game Tuesday after winning two games on Monday.
In the first affair, Carrington won in 10 innings over Thompson by the score of 2-1. Each team scored a run in the first, until Drew Page drove in Payton Smith to win the game with the bases loaded and nobody out.
Game two saw Page earn the win as Carrington held off Mohal 6-3. Trey Rosenau scored twice and had two hits in the victory, while Seth Nelson had three hits.
Carrington meets Park River at 10 a.m. Tuesday. Park River defeated Carrington 10-0 in the opening day of the tournament on Friday. For Carrington to win the State Championship, they would need to beat Park River twice.
