N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – Jamestown HOG Chapter 1955 held their annual Bikers for Kids event on Sunday, July 24th to raise funds for Community Action Region VI.
Food Pantry Coordinator Sarah Oberlander reports that the event had 46 bikes and 54 people participate. The group started at Stutsman Harley Davidson and rode to Sanborn, Kathryn, Ft. Ransom & Marion, a journey of roughly 140 miles.
“A huge thank you to the Jamestown Hog Chapter 1955, Jamestown Crusaders, and Stutsman Harley-Davidson for a successful fundraiser for our backpack program at Community Action Region VI,” Oberlander states in an e-mail.
The Jamestown Chapter Crusaders donated $1,000, the Jamestown HOG Chapter participation raised $1,732, making the total raised around $2,732. Oberlander reported that all funds raised go towards their Backpacks for Kids program, which fills backpacks with food and other necessities for children in need.
