CITY, ND – (NewsDakota.com) Stockwell Engineers, based in Sioux Falls, South Dakota will be making a site visit on Tuesday, August 2 in Valley City to meet with city officials and property owners.

Under an EPA Technical Assistance Program, Stockwell has been contracted to provide design options that demonstrate green storm water infrastructure techniques at four sites in Valley City.

Former Valley City Commission Madeline Luck says by incorporating elements such as rain gardens and planters Stockwell will produce landscape designs that aim to capture rainwater runoff, decrease flooding and improving water quality entering the Sheyenne River.

She says this initial visit will be to discuss existing conditions and goals for each site like the Post Office, Epworth Methodist Church, VCBC Library parking lot and North Central Avenue courts.

Luke says public input sessions for Valley City residents will be scheduled in October. The dates and locations will be released later.
