SD – (NewsDakota.com) V.J. Smith is a professional speaker and published author who resides in Brookings, South Dakota. He is the author of the best-selling book, “The Richest Man Town.”  The book details Smith’s relationship with a little old man who ran a cash register at a local Wal-Mart.  “That guy changed my life,” according to Smith.

His talk is based on the life of ‘Marty’, a memorable man who ran a cash register at Wal-Mart. He was considered rich because he was loved and respected, but most of all, he was content with every aspect of his life, no regrets. Marty’s simple philosophies show what happens when you take the time to be kind and compassionate. All that you give, you get back, and more.

V.J. Smith will be talking about this experience on Tuesday, September 27th at 7pm in the Hi Liner Activity Center. The public is encouraged to attend this event.

“After listening to VJ Smith speak, everyone had a whole new, positive perspective on what is important in life. He was able to emotionally touch everyone in the crowd, and help them develop an appreciation of their current state of affairs.” Chad Luck principal of Washington elementary school in Valley City.
