(NewsDakota.com) In their regular season and home finale for the 2016 season, the Oakes High School volleyball team earned a three sets to none sweep of Kindred Monday night.
The Tornadoes won by scores of 25-16, 25-15 and 25-14 to end the regular season with a 25-6 record. Oakes had a total of 13 aces with Sadie Hansen leading the way with three aces. The hometown team also collected 37 kills, Shelby Roney had a team high 13.
Oakes is scheduled to be the #3 seed in the upcoming Class B District 5 tournament, which runs October 27, 28 and 31 at LaMoure High School. The Tornadoes will either take on Ellendale, Edgeley/Kulm or Barnes County North in round one on the 27th.
