ND (NewsDakota.com) – The region will see another round of wintry weather Friday into the weekend. The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Weather Advisory for areas generally south of I-94 in North Dakota for Friday and Friday night.
According to meteorologist Zach Hargrove of the National Weather Service in Bismarck, some areas could see up to five inches of new snow. Hargrove says the heavier concentration will be around the North and South Dakota border, including the counties of McIntosh, Dickey, LaMoure, and Emmons.
Most areas along and north of I-94 including the Jamestown and Valley City areas may see an inch of accumulations.
Hargrove says the main threat of the weekend will be the bitter cold.
A Wind Chill Warning has been issued for northwest and north central North Dakota starting this evening, and for all of west and central North Dakota after 6am on Saturday continuing through noon Sunday.
Wind chills this cold can cause frostbite to exposed skin in less than 10 minutes. If you do have travel plans this weekend, make sure to carry a winter survival kit.
