(NewsDakota.com) – The Jamestown High basketball teams are still searching for their first wins of the season after dropping a pair of contests at St. Mary’s last night. The girls couldn’t get the offense going and lost 62-44. The boys were in the game until a huge run by the Saints put them in control for a 77-51 win.
Courtney Peterson lead the Jays with 15 points, but there were far too many turnovers by Jamestown. They turned it over 16 times in the first half and yet were only down 12 at the break. However, in the second half Sydney Smith and Tonya Dvorak got it going for the Saints as they held the Jays off.
In the boys game, the Jays lead 24-22 with two minutes remaining in the first half and suddenly the tide shifted. The Saints went on a 39-8 run to take a 61-30 lead and never looked back.
Both Blue Jay teams fall to 0-3 to start the year. Jamestown has two road games next week; at Valley City on Tuesday and at Legacy on Thursday.
