N.D. – (NewsDakota.com) Former Jamestown Police Chief David Donegan passed away at the age of 68 on December 15 in Jamestown.

Donegan was born and raised in Jamestown. He graduated from Jamestown High School in 1966. He graduated from Valley City State College in 1970 with a bachelor’s degree in education. He was drafted into the US Army shortly thereafter and served with the military police in Vietnam and Thailand from September 17, 1970 until March 24, 1972. 

Donegan joined the Jamestown Police Department in May 1976 and was promoted to police chief in 1994.

Mass of Christian Burial for Donegan will be held on Tuesday, December 20 at St. James Basilica in Jamestown at 10:30am.

Visitation will be held Monday, December 19th from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at Williams Funeral Home in Jamestown. A vigil will be held tonight at 7:00 p.m. at St. James Basilica in Jamestown.
