(NewsDakota.com) Whisper Gourd scored 23 points and Madison Leaf added another 17 as the Warwick girls basketball team defeated Ellendale 52-43 Saturday afternoon.

The difference in the game turned out to be the second quarter, as Warwick outscored Ellendale 13-5.  Macy Young and Alyssa Nishek each had 10 points in the loss, while Josie Henningsen contributed eight points.

The Cardinals (3-6, 1-2 Class B District 5) go back to district play Monday with a game at Midkota.
