N.D. (AP) — North Dakota lawmakers are settling in for a session that should start picking up speed this week.

The first week was highlighted by new Gov. Doug Burgum’s vision for the state, which included a warning about spending control as the state’s revenue outlook is uncertain.

Look for bills to start coming forward more quickly this week.

Legislative leaders say they hope to finish their work in 70 days. That would give them a 10-day cushion to come back and take care of any leftover business — or perhaps react to any federal legislation passed under the new Trump administration.
