CITY, N.D. – (NewsDakota.com) The Valley City Beautification Committee is seeking new members to help complete various beautification projects throughout Valley City in the coming year.

The Committee places flower planters along the Downtown District of Central and Main and participates annually in City Clean-up.

In addition to maintaining previous tree plantings, the committee works with the schools, the city and the Park District to review areas along streets, parks and along flood walls to determine where new tree plantings are needed and which trees or shrubs would be appropriate for those areas.  The Committee then writes grants to provide for plant materials and helps to plant the trees as well.

The Committee also works with youth and service organizations such as Boy Scouts and VCSU Learning to Live Freshman classes to help with plantings or city clean-up projects.

If anyone would like to be a part of the Valley City Beautification Committee, you are welcome to attend their annual planning meeting on Thursday, January 19th at 4:30pm in the Rosebud Visitor Center, located at 250 West Main in Valley City.
