N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The recent melt caused a lot of standing water on buildings and streets in the area. It’s also caused a lot of stress on some roofs.

On Tuesday, January 31st,  it was learned that KDAK AM 1600’s new studio location in Carrington had been subject to heavy snow and ice, causing the roof to cave in.

“When we realized the severity of the damage, our first concern was to make sure that KDAK stayed on the air to continue providing information to the community,” stated Tanea Clocksene, General Manager for Ingstad Family Media.

No injuries were reported. Clocksene and members of the station spent the day moving equipment to a temporary location until the damage can be assessed and repairs are made.

“We are very appreciative of Dakota Central and Bob Flach State Farm. Community support was strong yesterday and it is extremely appreciated.”

The studios have been relocated temporarily until repairs can be made to the damaged location.
