CITY, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) The Valley City Commission approved the appointment of City Administrator David Schelkoph to become a member of the Missouri River Energy Systems board of directors.

Schelkoph talked about the importance of having a Valley City official on the MRES board.

The vote passed on a 3 to one vote.

City Commissioner Mike Bishop voted against the motion. He said the city should have completed a job performance evaluation of Schelkoph first. Bishop believes city officials should have job performance evaluations.

Schelkoph told the city commission that his job as city administrator comes first and if being on the board interferes with that he would step down from the MRES board.
