CITY, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The Valley City Commission will hold a special meeting on Monday at 7 AM to consider a separation agreement with Russell J. Myhre as City Attorney.

Earlier this week, Valley City mayor Dave Carlsrud stated that the C.S. Hagen interview with Russ Myhre printed in the High Plains Reader are of Russ’ own words and independent of the City of Valley City.

Carlsrud said the tasteless image that was shown in the article does not reflect the views of the City Commission, City of Valley City and its employees. He added that the city does not condone that type of behavior.

On December 27th of 2016, the Valley City Commission unanimously approved of a settlement and agreement concerning the retirement of Russell J. Myhre.

Under the agreement, Myhre was paid $75,000 at the end of 2016 and will be paid another $75,000 this year for a total of $150,000.

The city of Valley City is in the process of searching for a new City Attorney to represent the city.
