N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – Two men face felony arson and burglary charges stemming from a fire set at a former military installation near Dazey on April 3rd and burglaries reported in the Dazey and Wimbledon area.

The Barnes County State’s Attorney’s Office said 29 year-old Christopher Aaron Kraay and 21 year-old Isaiah Dean Davis both of Wimbledon face one count each of Class B felony Arson; four counts of Class C Felony Burglary; 2 counts of Class C Felony Criminal Conspiracy-Theft of Property; and 2 counts Criminal Conspiracy-Theft of Property-A Misdemeanor.

The fire was intentionally set on April 3rd at the former U.S. Air Force Control Center near Dazey, North Dakota.

Barnes County Chief Deputy Don Fiebiger said the two men allegedly used a bolt cutter to cut off a lock to gain entry into the building.

The State Fire Marshall said a flammable liquid was used to start the fire in three separate areas inside the structure.

The building is owned by a private party who used it for storage since purchasing it from the U.S. Government.

Fiebiger said the two men are also accused of burglarizing an abandoned home in Wimbledon and taking several items from that home.

Fiebiger said the men are accused of taking two 4 wheel A-T-V’s, one was stolen near Dazey and another one near Wimbledon.

Fiebiger said more than 100 pounds of copper wire and four saddles were taken from the site near Dazey. He said the wire was sold in Jamestown and the saddles have been recovered.

Fiebiger said several items stolen from the abandoned home in Wimbledon were sold at a pawn shop in Bismarck.
