CITY, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – Valley City is weighing a decision to hire a firm to help the city with a comprehensive land use and transportation plan for the future.

Valley City Administrator David Schelkoph says public input will be essential. He talked about the contract and the focus behind this plan to the city commission during their May 2nd meeting.

The Valley City Commission will vote up or down to hire a firm named Stantec to do the job during their next regular scheduled meeting on Tuesday, May 16th.

Schelkoph said the cost share ratio of the $380,000 this contract is as follows, $230, 000 will be paid by the North Dakota Department of Transportation because a large portion of the plan deals with city roads. He said the city’s share would be $149,000 under the plan.
