N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – Valley City High School principal Kristi Brandt was selected to be the North Dakota Principal of the Year for 2017 this week in Bismarck.
Brandt will be invited by MetLife to be honored at the National Association of Secondary School Principals Institute this fall in Washington D.C. The symposium gives all the State Principals of the Year recipients an opportunity to learn from other national leaders in education.
The program annually recognizes outstanding school leaders who have succeeded in providing quality learning opportunities for students.
Brandt said, “My administrative colleagues are exceptional, the students are fantastic, the staff is passionate, knowledgeable and caring.”
Brandt grew up on a dairy farm in Iowa and graduated with a master’s degree at Southwest Minnesota State University in Educational Leadership and a second master’s degree in Educational Administration from St. Mary’s University in the Twin Cities.
She and her husband Terry have 3 children Lindsay, Kallie and Austin.
