N.D. (NewsDakota.com)- Valley City Post 60 was back on the road Thursday night as they traveled to Kindred for southeast region match up. Post 60 fell in both games by scores of 12-2 and 13-7.

 

Game 1: Kindred 12  Post 60 2

Things were going good till the bottom of the 3rd came around.  With the game tied 1-1 in the bottom of the 3rd it got away from Valley City with Kindred putting up 8 runs in that inning. VC would only score once more over the next 2 innings while Kindred would add 2 in the 4th and 1 in the 5th to end the game early.

Post 60 managed 5 hits in the game by 5 different players.

 Rylee Bjork started on the mound going 3 innings, giving up 9 runs (5 earned) on 8 hits while walking 1 and striking out 1 to get the loss.

Game 2: Kindred 13 Post 60 7

 A rough first inning put Post 60 behind by a big spot. Kindred would plate 9 runs in the first inning.  Post 60 worked its way back in the game scoring 6 runs in their next 2 trips at bat.  Devin Anderson sparked the come back with a big 3-run home run while John Beutler drove in 2 runs on a single to keep things going to cut the lead to 9-6.  That would be the closest that Post 60 would get to Kindred. Kindred would add 4 runs in their next couple at bats and held the lead to pick up the win by score 13-7.

Post 60 picked up 10 hits in the game, lead by 3 from Stephan Brooks.  Cole McGough chipped in with 2 hits in the contest.

 With the losses Post 60 record is 0-7 with 0-4 region record.

 Next action for VC is next Thursday in Fargo for a match up with the Bombers starting at 5 pm.
