WAHPETON,N.D. (NewsDakota.com)- Four Hi-Liner fumbles in the 1st half were turned into scoring drives for The Huskies. Valley City was shut out Friday night 50-0 to fall to 0-4 on the season.

Wahpeton’s first score came after Valley City fumbled on their 30 during the game’s opening drive. Aaron Deike had a 10 yard touchdown to put The Huskies up 6-0. A blocked Hi-Liner punt on their next possession put Wahpeton on Valley City’s 10 yard line and Deike scored on the ensuing play. Valley City fell behind 20-0 after the first quarter and were down 42-0 at the half.

Deike finished the game with 239 yards on 15 carries with 5 touchdowns. He longest was a 96 yard run which set a new school record. Luther Zeltinger collected 108 yards on 20 carries to lead Valley City’s offense.

Valley City will be on the road again next week for a match up with Devils Lake.
