N.D. (NewsDakota.com)——-The Carrington Cardinal’s football team battled the weather (45 degrees, rain, 20 MPH winds) and the Bottineau Braves and ran to 46-6 victory. Drew Page had 4 TD runs and a game high 151 rushing yards on 15 carries to pace the Cards victory. Kaden Wolsky added 17 carries for 72 yards and a TD and Payton Smith had 1 carry for a 15 yard TD. The Cards finished the game with 246 rushing yards on 38 attempts (6.5  average yards per carry). Seth Nelson also scored on a 47 yard punt return for the final score of the game. Page’s TD runs were from 14, 23, 39, and 22 yards. Wolsky scored on a 21 yard run.

Bottineau scored on the first play of the second quarter cutting the Cards lead to 8-6 on a Devon Mein 2 yard run. The Braves could not find anymore offense the rest of the evening as Carrington rolled to the win. Bottineau dropped to 2-2 overall and 1-2 in Region 2 play. Carrington improved to 4-0 and 3-0 in Region 2 play. The Cardinals will host Rugby next Friday night (22nd) in it’s 2017 homecoming game.
