N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The Jamestown offense couldn’t get in a groove on a rain soaked night at Ernie Gates Field, but the defense pitched a shutout for their third straight win. The Jays scored twice to knock off Turtle Mountain, 14-0.
“What did we say last week? A win is a win, but we have to play better,” said coach Bill Nelson after the game.
Midway through the second quarter, Jamestown forced a Braves punt. A decent return and a 15-yard penalty against Turtle Mountain set the Jays up at the 12-yard line. Jared Harr took a toss around the right end for a touchdown.
They added another score to ice the game in the final 100 seconds when Harr scored on a run up the middle for a 10-yard score.
Carter Moser picked off two passes.
Jamestown (3-1) is set up with a date with #1 St. Mary’s next Friday night in the annual homecoming game.
