N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – A local group that uses funds to erase the stigma surrounding suicide has created another event to help their cause.
Unite to Silence the Stigma was created almost five years ago and has made it their mission to eliminate the stigma surrounding suicide. The organization is comprised of local individuals who have had an experience with suicide, whether that’s a family member or friend.
They’re known for their Ride to Silence the Stigma event, but will holding another event this October called “Walk to Silence the Stigma.”
Nicole Morlock is a member of Unite to Silence the Stigma. She says the event will be open to anyone who wants to attend on October 7th. There will be a walk followed by a balloon release at Nickeus Park in Jamestown starting at 9:30 AM.
A special guest speaker from the Service Dogs for America will also be present. Cost to participate will be freewill donation.
For more on the event, visit their Facebook page at Unite to Silence the Stigma.
