The post claims that all Dollar Tree stores would close by October 1st and employees would receive paychecks through Christmas Eve. The story stated that the company was “losing money too fast by selling so cheap” and advised users to click a link to read more.

The information came from a website called React365.com, a hoax site allowing individuals to create their own stories and post them to social media. The post was shared more than 111,000 times.
