CITY, N.D. (NewsDakota.com)- The Hi-Liners road to state begins at home. After ending the regular season with a 7 game winning streak, Valley City secured the 2 seed in The EDC Tournament and will welcome Grand Forks Red River Tuesday night at The HAC.

With their finish The Hi-Liners avoided a tournament play in match while The Roughriders needed to beat Grand Forks Central in straight sets Thursday night to advance. Valley City enters the match having not played since last Tuesday night in Devils Lake.

Twice this season The Hi-Liners saw a break from their regular routine, first an 8 day stretch to end September and then a 10 day absence in October. Coach Jill Taylor says on both occasions the team has been able to come back stronger

 

The match is set to begin at 7 with doors opening at 6, cost is $5 for students and $8 for adults. All Valley City students will be admitted for free to the match. Coverage on KOVC starts at 6:50.

A win for Valley City moves them into the championship semifinals Friday night at 8, a loss and they play in the consolation semis at 4. All matches in the second round will be held at Fargo North High School.
