N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The Jamestown Kiwanis Club has announced that they’ve packaged a record number of meals for area children in need.

On Saturday, November 4th, the Jamestown Kiwanis Club with the help of roughly 375 volunteers packaged a record 163,216 meals. The packaged meals will benefit children in North Dakota and part of Minnesota. Janna Bergstedt was an organizer for the seventh annual event.

The group was able to beat their set goal of 100,000 meals. Each meal packaged cost $.25 and can feed up to six people. Once put together, they were sent to the Great Plains Food Bank for distribution.
