N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The Jamestown Public School Board heard from TRAC Facilities Manager Amy Walters about the partnership between the two entities.

Walters told the board that along with their already scheduled courses and activities, they continue to provide school specific things for the Jamestown School District. One of those things is the Safe Routes to Schools Program.

She says the other schools will be part of the project as well. Walters says they are also working on planning and designing an orchard through a Department of Agriculture grant.

Walters says they’ll use that as an educational opportunity in itself. Superintendent Rob Lech says they appreciate the partnership between the two entities.

Later in the meeting, board member Diane Hanson brought forth the issue of janitor staff in the district.

Hanson says she understands the labor problem in Jamestown, but would like to hold discussion on what the board can do to continue addressing the problem.
