HUNTER, N.D. (NewsDakota.com)- Maple Valley took a pair of close games at Northern Cass Thursday night. Sierra Wendt hit a pair of game winning free throws for a 52-50 win in the girls’ contest. In the boy’s game Maple Valley scored 17 in the final quarter to keep their season perfect at 5-0 with a 70-61 victory.
The Maple Valley girls, who are 3-6, play again January 6th against Finley-Sharon/Hope Page while the boys play again January 5th hosting Enderlin.

Maple Valley 52 vs. Northern Cass 50
North Cass rallied back after being down by 7 points heading into the 4th quarter and tied the game at 50. Wendt went to the free throw line with 4.2 seconds left in the game and made both baskets for the win.
Wendt finished the night with 28 points. Courtney Hovelson added 13 for The Raiders. Payton Johnson scored 14 to lead Northern Cass.
BBB: Maple Valley 70 vs. Northern Cass 61
The Raiders and Jaguars were all knotted up at 53 heading into the final 8 minutes. Jacob Johnson scored 7 point to help Maple Valley outscore Northern Cass 17-8 in the final quarter to get the win.
Four Raiders ended the night in double figures. Hunter Smith scored 26, Dustin Kasowski had 14, Brandon Pierce 13 while Johnson finished with 10. Marcus Jensen led The Jaguars with 23. Isaiah Aaseby scored 20.
